I haven't been able to join Discord lately -they keep on asking for my phone #.

Does anyone else have this problem, is there a way to solve it?

Never had this problem - do you try from computer or from the mobile device? Or maybe when you try to join over VPN/TOR, they have some IPs blacklisted and then you get two-step verification?

I've always used a VPN and have never needed to add number. I've also been a memeber of many banned groups and still haven't been banned however I do always get a warning.

I'm quite sure they track everything so you cannot write anything that is deemed to be degrading. They do it to the groups so I'm sure they checkdirect messages.

Exactly, apparently it's the VPN - however, I haven't posted anything degrading: to begin with, I am not into that, but mostly, it was a brand new account. So I don't know how to solve this, there were many nice people I had talked to through discord.
