Java error messages are usually pretty vague, you should be fine downloading the application.

This thread is not about xxxchatters, it is about the new chat interface on www.jackinchat.com. www.xxxchatters.com is a different site than us, they use the same java chat application that we used to, and it has all the same errors that prevented people from connecting to the chat server.

We're only looking for feedback from people using the chat application from here, since the owner of xxxchatters.com and the chat server is not interested in helping fix the problem.

The new interface works great for me. It's just a relief to finally be able to get in without a hassle. Thanks, Ben for finding this solution.

For our own reference, there seems to be an issue with people having registered nicks and it isn't identifying with Nickserv on the chat server.

application's digital signature has an error. do you want to run the application. hitting yes gets:

java has discovered application components that could indicate a security concern & asked yes/no to run it (application contains both signed & unsigned code. Contact the application
vendo to ensure that it has not been tampered with)

Hmm, it wasn't doing that when we first installed it. I wonder if it is now because we've made a few modifications to it. We'll investigate. In the meantime, go ahead and click yes to run it, you'll be fine.

Works great for getting in. N/B. When I try to get on after having shut down, I get a message saying a Java something or other wants to access my computer, forcing me to say yes or no, when I say "yes", I get on. Guess that is not a prob, but it might scare someone. Doesnt happen just once, happens everytime I go on after having shut down.

A few small things could be tweeked. Emoticons don't seem to work at all (no biggee at all, but wanted u to be aware)

Also, one used to be able to click on a name and have it appear in a message in dialogue, that doesnt seem to work anymore, at least for me. I am not talking about private messaging, that works fine.

On the whole, the access is so much better.....your efforts are truly appreciated. The appearance could be made better (we have been spoiled), but time will take care of that.

yes, thanks for fixing it! I'm fairly sure I didn't have the sound turned down, and when waiting for replies when pm'ing and on another window it didn't make that familiar popping sound when a reply came in.

It should take you straight into #jackinchat which is our channel. At any given time there can be 50-120 people in there and the topic is usually masturbation.

i went ahead and said "ok" to the 2 pop ups i mentioned before regarding java error messages & i got this message:

No access prob, really fast loading - GREAT!!! Stick with it! (Just one concern - Java warns of uncertified content... maybe you need to WARN ppl to ignore this warning? Clicking "yes" stops the chat loading - must select "NO"

Only quibble for when you're fine-tuning ()... the info when you hover over a name spills off the screen.

PS: I'm proud of my cock/body/age, but get so pissed off with ppl asking "ASL?" before even saying "hello" - or bothering to LOOK @ info freely available... how about removing the caption "ASL" from the profiles page and replacing it with proper words... might not encourage it's use as much?

Make sure you're not using any addons that disable java/javascript. The site needs to be able to load the java chat application or it won't do anything. Could always try it using an alternate web browser: Internet Explorer, Safari.
