Seems to me, we use the term COCK very, very frequently. However, in the same context, we use the word DICK far less...and I wonder why.
The term DICK has such a nice soothing ring to it...and to me a dirtier, sleazier, and more "tasty" connotation. Whenever I hear DICK, I immediately begin salivating at the natural taste and odor, which fills my imagination.
Plus, it reminds me of my pre-teen and teen years when we ONLY used the word DICK. I did not begin hearing, or using, the word COCK until my later years.

Cock for me. Dick always sounds a bit silly.
I've always liked Dick. It was the first thing we called it as kids, and it sounded so dirty and exciting. Cock came much later. There's another man's name term for it which is occasionally used. It's your "Johnson." For some reason, to me, that sounds positively creepy.

I guess Mrs. Johnson coined the term for her husband..."Stop acting like such a Johnson, u idiot."

That explains it. Another one that I don't care much for is "prick." Also frequently applied to a person.

...and how about "willy." Sounds creepy
Being from the UK we use the term COCK, and i think the term DICK is used mainly in America. So i grew up using the term Cock.
i just love mutual wanking
Since my name is Richard, (Dick), I have almost always gone with the name Cock or sometimes prick. Johnson and Willy have always been out there, but seldom ever used them.

Although I use both words quite frequently, I prefer the word 'cock'. It seems more sexual to me than the word 'dick'.
I guess it totally varies between our personal circumstances or the areas we live, but 'dick' is a word I would use in most social circles - except exceptionally polite company, older relatives, my superiors at work, etc. Most girls actually giggle if you mention your 'dick' in context - I think it's seen as more of a silly word than a rude word. 'Cock' I would only really use when talking intimately with someone, or if I was in very familiar company. It just seems a more sexual word. That may be due to my upbringing though - I'd have got a clip round the ear for saying it in front of my parents.

The mind is like a parachute.. It works best when open
I still prefer to say dick.
I agree with those who prefer "cock". Dick sounds like a euphemism to me; too wimpy, as is "dink", and "prick" and some others. "cock" is more manly, and more "out there"
and "In yo face" ! (and how about "log" ?? I REALLY
like that ! )

Depends on the circumstance. Dick for idle conversation. Cock is more sexual to me.
I pity a man with short arms.
