I hate the current use of the word fuck, as just another one of the many vulgar expletives. It's now everywhere. Even in mainstream media as "the F word." No one can talk anymore without saying the word "fuck" in some form. I loved the time long ago when it was a word so vile that it simply couldn't be uttered in public. And in the rare cases when it WAS uttered, it had real power and impact. Now it's just a wimpy cuss word, or simple slang term.
And there was a time when a couple could use "fuck" as a bedroom dirty word. And it implied an intense level of intimacy that no other word could convey. Now there are no longer any dirty sex words with the power that can cause a guy's cock to really go "BOING."

Let me be more direct. Two things have happened here, and both are reprehensible. One is that the wide acceptance of the word “fuck” has contributed to the general coarsening of our language and of our public discourse. The other is that the word itself has lost its power as a supreme vulgarity with powerful sexual impact. It’s just another way that the entire English speaking world is going to hell in a hand basket.

Indeed! A coarsening of discourse which has contributed to the decline of our entire political process, IMHO. We should return to a time when the use of the word, ouside of the frat house or locker room, results in opprobrium by respectable society at all levels.
The word has been destroyed by overuse. A word that means everything means nothing.
