And it's not just those YouTube links. I was laughing at the Buzzfeed link which described how Romney supposedly helped find the 14 year old girl. We're told that it shows how "human" he is. In a way, it reminded me of the time that Ronald Reagan was praised for giving $10,000 to a poor woman. It's amazing how right wing Republicans can be so very caring and generous to one or two individuals, even as their social policies damage the lives of tens of thousands of low and middle income Americans. In Reagan's case we had him sending a check to one single woman, as he was cutting thousands of the lowest income Americans from Social Security rolls. (A move which was later reversed by the Congress.)
In the case of Romney, we have the rich and powerful CEO of Bain capital using the resources of the company to help find the drug addicted daughter of another one of the wealthy partners of Bain. And I'm supposed to think this makes him a really great guy? For a guy with more than $200 Million, individual acts of generosity are like flipping quarters to beggars. In particular, a high profile unpaid job at the Olympics, and not accepting a salary, even as he adds the Governorship of a major state to his political resume, simply identifies him as a self-serving political opportunist. Just another sleazy politician who wants to be president.
