Joystik, in short, the answer is "no." Gen 38 was a cultural mandate to continue the bloodline of the family (and thus property ownership and family holdings) and should be seen as God working within the culture, not vice versa.

Question for you Pastor. If sex was just for pro-creation, why did God make it so much fun, with so much VARIETY associated with the sex act? I mean, think about it.
