i have always thought that many of the black and white film stars looked hotter than modern ones because they were always photogrphed in b&w.
most women can look passable with the correct lighting, but i think it especially enhances aspects of traditional beauty when done correctly - as it was in the hollywood of old. conversly this did lead to some 'classic hollywood beauties' being given higher standing than they deserved because they looked especially good in b&w. don't get me wrong, there were some absolute stunners back then of course, as there are now.
would like to know if anyone agrees, disagrees, or has any thoughts on this.
in terms of classic stars i would probably go for someone like claudia cardinale - she looked good in any environment.
