I'm not passing judgment on Bill Cosby, but IF even one of those rape allegations is true, he is an utter piece of shit. We all have fantasies, even some weird, out-there shit (myself very much included). The difference is I have never and would never act on those fantasies. To engage in any kind of sexual harm against another person and have no remorse about it is fucked up and wrong.

Sure, I objectify women in my mind and I deal with that appropriately. I think evolution has hardwired men to generally want to think that way. That said, I don't go around sexually assaulting or even making women feel uncomfortable by ogling and making unwanted catcalls. I think there are clearly defined places to openly and shamelessly lust after women (or men), like strip clubs or websites like this.

These allegations against Bill Cosby have given me pause to consider how I act toward women, even in subtle, unintentional ways. I hope you all give this some reflection as well.

Regardless of past (alleged) rapes. Mr. Cosby is forever damaged goods. How long ago were these committed? WHY do they come forward now ? Are there any records of charges etc. Regardless he probably should retire from public life.

I think the Cosby discussion is an interesting/important one, and definitely relevant to this forum. One might argue that it would be appropriate for the coffee shop section, but the OP is reflecting on his relationships toward women as a result.

Definitely agree, consent is a must. Regardless of whether or not he did it (which it's looking like we may never know for sure) the allegations are deplorable.

And what you were saying, OP, about how you look at women outside of your fantasies is an important point too. There's been a whole lot of similar accusation against celebrities here in the UK over the past couple of years or so.
Some have been proven in Court, but others just seem impossible to judge whether true or not.
Problem is that the accusations date back 20 or 30 years, it's one persons word against another, and there is always the risk that some will jump-on-the-bandwagon in the hope of money and compensation. And, even as recently as the 1970's and 80's attitudes were different, and things might have been said or done which would be totally unacceptable now.
I wouldn't like to be a Judge or on a jury which had to decide in a lot of these cases!

I guess celebrities think they are entitled to take anything they want,even if it's a person's dignity or innocence.
At first I thought it was a scam by a"victim",but when more women came forward,it was hard to believe.

It takes a certain type to actually force someone to do something they don't want to do and I'm not just talking about the obvious tie-them-up-and-rape-them scenario. People get forced to do things because of their perceived hierarchical position and even if they're paid for it, either by getting a salary or tuition, being coerced to perform a sexual act is still being forced. It is too easy for some to say "just walk away" and if you're not in their shoes, don't judge too quickly.

Some people (not just men) like Cosby take advantage of their position and influence to get what they want. At some point they start believing their own hype and that they "deserve" it because of "who they are".

None of these women coming out now have come after Bill Cosby for money. There is no evidence whatsoever that they are gold diggers. They have nothing to gain from this. It makes total sense they would wait this long - they were afraid and ashamed when it happened, and felt no one would believe them against the great Bill Cosby. But now the allegations are coming out and they're finding the strength to finally give the alleged crimes against them a voice.
