What exactly counts as "degradation" and at what point does it become unacceptable? Will specific words or descriptions of specific acts be forbidden? Will this rule be clarified or will the site just rely on the "I know it when I see it" approach?

Is the new rule somewhat broad? Sure, I can agree with that. For better or for worse, experience has shown us that it's more effective in the long run to cast a wide net with a new rule such as this and then, as warranted, dial it back than to do the reverse. Whenever something like this is put into place, there will be those who will find creative ways to skirt the spirit of the rule while obeying the letter of the rule. When enforcement is broad, it helps to nip that in the bud, then, once things settle into the new groove, if it's appropriate to do so, the reins can be loosened a bit.

To add to this rule, instead of just degrading females, it is also going to include males, so degrading of anyone is not allowed. Since it's not right to degrade any human being.

correct it doesn't work a 100% of the time to do that we'd have to have someone in the room paying attention 100% of the time. However, no one wants to do that so therefore the bot is there to catch most of it, sadly some get caught that aren't meant to be caught. Those bans are only temp and will be removed after a period of time.
