When I connect to JC chat I get immediately disconnected with this message
[11:14] == *** (qwebirc) Looking up your hostname...
[11:14] == *** (qwebirc) Couldn't look up your hostname!
[11:14] == Connected to server.
[11:14] == Disconnected from server: Connection to IRC server lost.
Is it me or my equipment? Is it JC? or something else?

This has to do with the irc server and or network that we are hosted on. It is nothing with your computer or JC. Sometimes this happens and you may just need to refresh the page for it to work or wait a few moments.
Something else you might want to check if you are using the java interface is seeing if your Java needs to updated on your computer. You can goto http://www.java.com and get the latest version.

I just tested the Java applet for the chat room. I am getting the same error. It should fix itself in a few days but until then if you use the HTML version of the chat, it is working correctly.
