No, didnt believe it myself, But some politician in charge of media was saying it.

They interviewed a minister who said that there would be two choices, register with a card on line or buy a pass. She didn't seem to think that many people would go for the third choice - use a vpn! Exactly, the government don't care about kids looking at porn. What they do care about is global surveillance. They will have a passport photo and card details of everyone using the internet now. I cant believe how this has been sneaked in right under the publics nose.

Our government have decided to drop the plan. The idea seems to be to have some form of internet watchdog in the future, but Brexit is the only political topic at the moment so it has all been put off.
