I know why they removed personals from the U.S. sites (new law passed by Congress)but now they've removed personals from all the other countries in the world. Does anyone know why?

divorcedbiguy, I sent you a long answer, short answer is:

Too many easily-offended people looking for used furniture see dick-pics by accident and complain. + Lots of underage liars, hookers, rapists, stalkers, et al, use those ads.

CL has always said "at your own risk" but lawyers want to hold them liable for shit that happens through ads they allow to be posted. Laws in the US embolden lawsuits worldwide.

CL has wisely decided to reduce their exposure to liability. That's fine, but be aware that this trend - suing online contact sites for shit that happens to anyone who met on that site - has a BIG chilling effect on free speech.

What drives it all are prudes who are horrified to see a dick-pic. CL is a mixed site so accidental exposure is much easier than at an 18+ only site dedicated to porn. And it's not MEN who are calling their senators to complain, is it?
