Has anyone noticed unusually high spam activity lately? I just reported two of a total of five "Hey" messages with spam links in my Jackinmail messages dated over just two days.....8/11 and 8/12. (The other three were accounts that had already been suspended.) I always get a few from time to time, but five in less than 48 hours seems unusual activity.

Agree. Seems spam activity has increased. I imagine on a free and relatively open site such as this, spam is always gonna be an issue. Thankfully, it seems that members and the site managers are actively engaged in suspending those identified spammers. I imagine dealing with spammers and those people introducing inappropriate content is a never-ending battle Keep up the good fight!

I've noticed it too, also noticed alot of user names using similar formats like 22claire48. Seen several use the same profile picture and you just know they are spamming.

In the upper right corner of their profile, there's a flag and Report This Profile text. Click that and it will bring up a dialog box to let the mods know you got spam.

As noted in the thread linked below, there has indeed been an increased spam attack on the site over the past few months.

At the end of July, the site owner basically put a blanket block on an entire region being able to register. In the time since, some have continued and registered accounts after the block was put in place. The most prominent source appeared to be using accounts registered before the block was implemented, but not used (they consistently show registration dates in mid-June), but in that time, I have banned somewhere between 200-400 of these accounts. We are catching and banning them as quick as we can, and these accounts that appear to have found a way to spoof their registration date are now also being reported to the site owner.

Finally getting over a case of "mild" covid-19, still feel like crap, can't sleep and thought I'd come see what's what tonight, or this morning (2:40, A.M.!). It looks as though the asshole spammers are at it again, or as usual. There's nearly a page and a half of these phony users here tonight. I feel sorry for anyone who falls for this crap and gets pulled in. Probably the newbies here haven't caught on yet, but we long time users can tell right away. They sure are ambitious weasels.
