I'm very interested in finding a JO bud, but I'm nervous. How exactly does this work? Do you show up at his hotel room, introduce yourself and start jacking?

The idea of jacking with another guy and possibly jacking him and having him jack me turns me on, but I could use some pointers as to how it all goes down. I've put an ad in Craigslist but I haven't gotten a serious reply. Several replies like "Hey bro, I wanna suck you." Really? I was hoping for a little more than that.

So, if you have a JO bud or have met up with someone to JO, can you give me some pointers?

A video chat first to show you are both serious is a good place to start. As you will both be there for the same reason it should go as planned. Whoever is at the meeting place first I'd advise to have porn playing when you meet and after that just go at your own speed. The urge to wank will grip you both soon enough with the porn playing. If your not comfortable with what's happening then explain your reasons but be open minded. If you still can't get comfortable with it then best to just leave.

I agree with jackaddicted, get to know your buddy on line first to filter out someone who just doesn't seem legit.
I've already made a couple friends here and look forward to a little chat and skype perhaps before we meet.

I still get together with my HS jack bud even after all these years but we only get together about once a year. love to do it more.

It's pretty easy to tell if they are really nuts or not.

Something else to consider. I ask for a public meeting with no sex intended right away. Face to face is best. If you have a park where you can chat in the open but still public that can really work

I'll try to help you here. The best case scenario is to meet up online such as here on this site for example. Have some conversation get to know each other with some straightforward chit-chat, eventually moving to meeting on person , maybe coffee and a burger , take time to get acquainted.
As someone said above jacking with a stranger might cost you your life and/or end in a beating or robbery. It's no longer safe to simply show up at a strangers house.
A huge " Red Flag " is when he's not interested in meaningful conversation but anxious to get on with it. People like this can't be trusted so avoid them.
Remember anything worth doing is worth investing some time to get it right and then let the fun begin.

Completely agree with JOLUVR. Take your time to "feel out" the person before you even consider meeting them. Trade a lot of porn online, jacking and chatting nasty. Let them lead to see where THEY go with it. If that goes well, talk on the phone and do the same. Then, if all is well, meet in public for coffee / a drink. Bottom line is take your time. Do not rush into a mistake that could end very badly.

I have had some really great experiences with JO buds. Some have led to fun with their wives / gfs as well. Mind you, that was after hell of a lot of vetting. I won't even begin to describe all the nutcases that wanted to meet immediately in their cars.
