If you're in the military or have been, can you tell me if you're allowed to have porn mags and videos to jack off to in the barracks. What about in a war zone like Iraq? Can friends send you porn if not available locally? In other words, do military leaders "look the other way" or even encourage the use of porn knowing that guys HAVE to have sexual release on a regular basis, even if it's just jackin?

You are not officially allowed to have porn in full view. However, once you are out of boot camp, you will find that base exchanges in most areas will have a nice array of men's magazines. Keep them out of view and you should be fine. Occasionally, you will have a "health and welfare" inspection during which any such matter may be subject to confiscation. (Generally, you won't have "Playboy" or "Penthouse" taken away, but lots of other stuff--especially if it features full penetration--is fair game.) Officially, this is to "promote good order and discipline," but unofficially, it's to make the chiefs, sergeants, and junior officers look like they're doing something (and to fatten some of their porn collections!). This is one reason why they often won't confiscate a lot. After all, they don't want to make it look like all of a sudden, every grunt has become a porn freak.

However, if you have any sex toys, you can pretty much count on them being taken--and in some cases, you may be brought up on charges. I was fortunate enough to figure out how to hide all my best stuff (since health and welfare inspections are supposed to be top-to-bottom inspections, this shouldn't work, but in practice, when there are only six people searching 100 rooms, and only two hours to do so, they'll often take shortcuts, looking in "typical" places.

You don't HAVE to have sexual release on a regular basis. You just think you do. It's not a requirement. And yes, I am being a bitch about it. Thank you.

I had a car on base most of the time, except overseas. Which is not only a great place to keep things you don't want in your barracks, it also provides a small amount of privacy from a building full of other troops.

And stroking to porn not only relieved stress, it got a couple of special episodes of stress relief off to great start.

Japan was another story.

Over there, pics w/pubic hair are the equivalent of kiddie porn: very bad. When returning from Korea with a Playboy, I got it confiscated very publicly on the runway one night.

The annoying thing was I'd bought it on-base in Japan, where the rules didn't apply. If I hadn't taken it out of country, and then brought it back in, it wouldn't have been a problem. So I went back to base, and replaced the same issue that was confiscated at the airport.

'Fraid not...not any more! The BX's no longer carry any type of soft-porn mags (at least, in Europe), 'cause all the fat, frumpy, bible-belt, do-gooder wives got very vocally offended by having them on display! The BX's then got into trouble for having them displayed in sealed bags with blank inserts covering the fronts due to 'illegal' censorship...for a while even mags like Cosmopolitan had to be covered-up like this!! In the end it was easier to just stop selling them. I don't know though, whether the BookMark stores still carry them....

In 1970 on the way to Vietnam staff noncomissioned officers and some junior officers had to confiscate hard core porn that the young troops had purchased. We took all the stuff to our office area where we went through it all for our own enjoyment.Don't know the final disposition of all that nasty stuff.Wish I could of kept some to help releive the stress.

Today most service people are on line and like us get their porn there.In most service towns there are adult book stores where the guys and gals can get books, magazines, videos, lubes and toys to their hearts content.During Desert Storm guys were jacking off to Sports Illustrated swimsuit editions my buddy got porn magazines in packages from friends in the states. I'm sure most men and woman in the military have continued to read porn or watch it as I and others did prior to the internet. In Vietnam we had 8mm porn tapes and type written porn stories and reproduced porn pictures in B&W. Later when video tapes and dvd's were available things really got better and today with the internet. I'd guess that everybody is enjoying porn almost openly and together.
