I get almost one spam message per day. I report the profiles and delete the "mail". I wish the mods would be more careful who they let on JackinChat.

Why cant the 'site guys' prevent any new member from posting for say forty eight hours? This could seriously deter a lot of them!!

Yea I get about 20 a day but if a genuine member that contributes to the site has any reference to wikr on their profile they ban them in a heartbeat haha

This Hello nonsense does spoil my enjoyment of this fine site.

It must be possible to prevent the spammers from posting DMs until, say, the account has posted five messages on the main site.

How about preventing any new accounts being opened for a few days? That might send them somewhere else?

I get spam on my personal email, I just delete it and I do exactly the same here.

Spam is a fact of life.

Just accept we'll get sent it and move on. Zero harm done.

Unfortunately the spam accounts are created by "Bots" - program scripts. The old infrastructure of this site makes it ripe for exploitation by these kinds of program scripts.
