Actually did a little reading about the various secure messengers as a result of this thread, so figured I'd share my findings in case any privacy freaks or tech types are interested in using something safer than Discord, Kik, etc.

All of these 3 should support groups.

W%kr address trading isn't allowed here, it's also closed source and therefore less trustworthy by default.

Tox does reveal your internet address to contacts (only after you add them) but is otherwise secure and completely decentralized.

Session is anonymous, decentralized, and does not reveal your internet address. It supports "closed" (stronger privacy) groups up to 100 users and "open" groups with many thousands of users.
