Definitely better if you can get someone to do it for you.

Standard razor for sack and shaft. Electric trimmer for the rest. How short I go varies, usually between a grade 8 and a 4. Have been toying with shaving the lot (not gone the whole hog in a good few years) but so far resisted.

Indeed, especially the bit about avoid ingrowing hairs. Not a great look if it ends up spotty!

Using a fresh blade always helps a lot too.
