Please don't speak for "everyone" here xclusv27cam. A solution to problems connecting to the chat server has been mentioned in this thread several times - use an IRC client program (such as mIRC, Irssi, etc.) rather than the Java applet. Those of us already doing so will continue enjoying the same easy access to the chat server we've always had.

In other words there are 3 solutions that I can see from reading all the discussions on here:

1. Use an IRC program to connect rather than the Java applet.

2. Find a different Java IRC applet to use on the site. (Depending on the technical details of the applets in question and the "problem" on the IRC server side this may or may not be possible.)

3. Move the site to another chat system. Doing so would mean losing all the other channels that people here enjoy on the current server (#pornjackers, etc.), unless you continued to connect to irc.xxxchatters.com as well (see solution #1). Also, if the site moved to a non-IRC chat system then everyone using IRC clients would lose access.

Oh yeah, I just thought of a 4th:

4. Keep bitching and moaning about the problem on here, even though the site admins have spelled out the reason for the problem and the work-arounds and solutions. The result of this being pissing off the admins of this FREE SITE so many of us seem to enjoy so much.

Lately, quite by accident, I've discovered that I've been able to access the chat by simply reloading the page. I'm usually on a Macbook laptop, and get a small window for the chat. With that active, I hit command-R, and after one or two tries, it spreads its virtual legs wide for me.

You PC users, I'm not sure what your refresh/reload keys are, but it's worth a try, right?
