Thank you for the 7th post in here telling us you can't get in. Did you check the link I gave you, showing the many different solutions to getting in?

The one that usually works for me is the /sex.dot.org one??


This is getting beyond ridiculous now.

Instead of all the links to solutions, why don't you just fix the damn thing?

Hey everyone, I understand this has been extremely frustrating for a lot of you - us included!

I've upgraded the Java client to an alternate piece of software and have started self-hosting the client. Let me know if this helps. Based on what I know of the problem, I don't think swapping the client will solve the issue itself, but it may help with the annoying error message and require less manual reconnection trickery to try and get it to connect.

Reply here and let Ben and I know if this helps with the issue.

Could you be more specific? What exactly doesn't work? Do you get the same message?

Seems like a simple request doesn't it? If we could have fixed the problem, we would have. But like I've said at least 10 times in here, we can't fix the issue because the problem is on the server that runs the chat for us. We do not have any control over that, we don't own it.

I really wish I could give you a better answer, but there is nothing we can do to fix it. Like I've said before, if you can get into the chat, the best thing to do is join the #help channel by typing: /join #help and let them know your struggles to get in. NameD (also goes as DemaN) is the owner of the server, he is the one that is able to fix the problem. Be polite.

This is your 9th post in here saying it doesn't work. Dude, we know it doesn't work. Your posts do not help fix the problem. Saying "It didn't work" is the least helpful thing you could possibly do. What would be more helpful to us is if you would give us some details about what commands you've been trying, what error messages you get, how many times you've tried before you've given up.

For all I know, you could be doing the commands wrong. Instead of whining and complaining, how about you actually try and help us out here.

I used to be able to sign in via the /server sex-dot.org fix, but am unable to get in at all now since the Java client upgrade per Admin's message above. I've tried the xxxchatters.com approach, too.

Am I the only one who is having more trouble now since the upgrade?

Ok, I rebooted, downloaded some plug-in and now it works. Looks horrible though....sorry to sound ungrateful!

We have changed the chat interface to a new one in an attempt to get around the issues with the chat server. I will be locking this thread now since we are using a different method to get to the chat. Please go here now:
