I would like to start camming, but I'm worried about the safety of it. Anyone have any tips for how to cam safely?

What are your concerns about it?

I just want to make sure that anything I do stays legal.

I would always make sure you ask the AGE/Sex/Location Question before you do any thing you would think is illegal

If the other person you're talking to is a legal adult, there is nothing illegal with camming, at all.

Just make sure the person on the other end is of legal age and don't show anything you wouldn't want to turn up at a later date posted on the internet.

Yes, you want to be sure the other person is lgal and unless you are comming 1onn 1 you need to be aware that people record cam sessions and post them as I found out a few weeks ago. I was camming one day last winter and someone captured it and posted it on a site where hey post captured cam videos. It is a public site so anyone can see it. Was quite a shock when a friend sent me a link to a video of me baring all (including face) onthe web! Far as I know the video is still out there, I have the link somewhere.

Don't show your face unless you want to and only provide information on a voluntary basis. People who ask me lots of questions about myself and ask to see my face are swiftly placed on my block list.

That's a good question. I work in Information Technology, and familiar with what is possible. Depending on how you cam, it is possible your cam partner or partners would know your IP address. This can give them a general location and ISP. Your ISP will know who the IP belongs to, but will likely not release it without a subpoena. You can mask your IP, but for camming, it generally isn't worthless. As others have said on here, between consenting adults, it is just fine. I cam fully knowing what is possible, but not that concerned about it. I guess it depends on what you are afraid may happen.

Some great suggestions here for sure. Mainly, verify that they're legal!!I enjoyed camming, but never showed my face. And to echo romantic_robot, if someone starts pushing for face pics, where you live or ANYTHING that makes you uncomfortable or suspicious,......block em!
