Since about Oct. 1 I keep getting this message, or one ending in "Connection refused" when I try to log into chat.

Anyone else having the problem? What can I do about it?
Should I be careful?

This seems to be an increasingly common problem - for me anyway. The chat window often doesn't seem to be able to connect with the server.

Same problem here too.Seems my problem started after installing a Java update...or maybe that's just a coincidence.I would appreciate any help in getting connected again.

I cant get in either..
A few times it looked like it finally connected but I was the only one in the room..

i get jade fla and it says ot identity response but then nothin else happens

There have been a lot of problems with "exploit" Java recently. I think Firefox even disabled it at some point. I read that the antivirus people were all pissed at Sun because they were dragging their feet at fixing it. Read about it here . . .

try installing pidgin, its free and easy to set up.

Man, I installed pidgin, but now - what do I do? I assume I have to add jackinchat - but what parameters do I enter to allow me to enter jackinchat using pidgin?

tried again this morning and the same thing. gets to jade.fla.dal. net says it got identity response but thats it. never goes any further. benjc or rodjc have any idea why so many people are having problems? ive had problems getting in before but usually was able to after a few trys but this has been going on for 3/4 days. lol i need to nut guys so lets find out why i cant get in.

I'm having the same issue here and I've tried everything I know to sign into chat. Now, when I attempt to sign into chat, I'm disconnected from my ISP.

It sounds like there was a Java update that has messed stuff up. I don't know if there's anything we can do about since Java is broken, not our site or chat app.

I'm still having all the same problems as listed above. It started for me as soon as I updated my Mac OS to Mountain Lion. Having withdrawal!!!! Help!!!!
