Whenever I go over my familty parties at my brother's, I'm not gonna lie, his daughter is 17 and gorgeous. Like turn heads beautiful. Me and him have talked at length about her and we're both over protective for her with other boys since we know how guys think lol.

She is your niece, and therefore under your protection. Your thoughts are tempered out of necessity, which means you avoid thinking of her in a sexual way. And now you struggle like the rest of us with balancing societal norms against physical, sexual desire - welcome to the club.

The fact that you have these thoughts is natural, that you identify them as human nature is accurate, and that you categorize these girls as off-limits is expected. But that you take steps to avoid looking their way as best you can is admirable. In a sense, we are all dirty old men in thought, but it's those that are able to control themselves in action that draws the line between conscientious adult and pervert.
