Skype is good for c2c. Since Yahoo instant messenger seems to be going away Skype is a great alternative and the video is better. One thing I do is use a separate userid for this kind of activity rather than my "real" user, which my wife knows about because we use it to video chat with other real people.

This way she cannot login into it and see my contacts (you guys that I've done c2c with) and therefore my chat history, which would need some 'splaining. I go one step further when I'm done with Skype for a session, and that's to actually delete my special userid from the computer so she doesn't see any trace of it if she happens to fire up Skype.

Good to know, mine doesn't use Skype. So I'll either have to delete the icon on screen. Or uninstall every time I'm done! Which is a hassle

Just make a separate ID for Skype and there's no need to hide the icon just say you use to keep in contact with some friends, there's nothing to hide unless you're doing it at weird hours haha
