A variety of reasons come to mind:
- Barring an emergency, they weren't expecting him to go into the bedrooms.
- He mentioned he was also snooping in the "daughter's" room. Kids are messy, and don't care about house sitters.
- They don't care if someone sees a pile of clothes sitting on a bedroom floor (but this does not equate to an invitation to masturbate to those clothes).
In some jurisdictions, snooping through others' belongings like this is illegal.
Sure would be awful if they had a "nanny cam" going and pressed charges on their return....
