To post a link you use this icon



Another chat window appears where you put the URL or link



Then another window where you can put any text you want

Not directly, no. You have to upload the pic to a hosting site first, such as photobucket, tinypic, imagebam, etc. (there are quite a few out there).

Once you've uploaded it, the site gives you a link to send to a message board/forum like this one. Copy and paste the link into the body of your message on here.

So I've been trying the advice in this thread, but it is giving me issues. I'm using imagebam for my host site.

If I use the image button, and link to the full size image, all it instead displays is "User posted image" instead of the expected thumbnail.

I tried embedding the thumbnail inside of the url, like so: (I'm going to substitute parens for brackets so the bbcode won't misunderstand)

(url=link to full size image here)(img)link to thumbnail(/img)(/url)

But clicking on the thumbnail image just shows the thumbnail, it doesn't link to the full image.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, any suggestions are appreciated.

You must use the text link example if you're linking to imagebam.

Looks like that places a link to a photo site in the message - how do you get the photo to appear in this message box?

I don't have any particular ties to imagebam, it was just one someone suggested. I'd love to find one that would work properly with this site.

I normally use tinypic, it works pretty well.

I prefer imgur.com

Why does uploading pics or clips to this site have to be so complicated? Other sites allow uploads directly from my laptop.
I'm sure other members like me are not too IT savvy and can't be bothered with the hassle involved.

I know of no other boards/sites that allow you to drag and drop images when creating a message.

I miss so many pictures and video clips on this site if the link is not highlighted in blue. I never learned how to view so many of them .Is their an easy way?
