Doubt it. If anything, the problem is that there were too many replacement threads being started. Lots of good samaritans trying to keep things alive but that makes it more complicated because you only need one. It's like having five of the same thread about a very popular model/celeb on here.
Standard forum procedure: whichever thread has more traffic/support becomes the new main thread or a moderator could create a new one if it's a popular topic.
