I've tried a number of sleeves and I definitely prefer open ended. Closed can be difficult to clean out and will frequently trap air at the tip, making it difficult to use. You push in and make a huge air bubble at the end.

Of course, open ended tends to lead to more cleanup of the aftermath...

I've never tried either one. Not sure I know what they are.
