So a couple of days ago I decided to experiment and spice the normal jacking routine up a bit. I had seen threads here and elsewhere about the wonders of the TENS unit, with associated sex related dongles or just the old school pads, that make your cock both hard and cum, no hands. So again after doing some research, admittedly difficult to do thoroughly one handed, smile, I picked up a new TENS 7000 unit and a couple of the popular dongles for guys.

Got it all out and set up this evening and read the instructions. First tried the pads, recommended settings, for muscle pain relief, (gotta start somewhere). Felt the rhythmic surge and sensation but it didn't even come close to making me hard, let alone cum. Threw in the towel after 15 mins of that. Then I switched to the one that looks like two mini ratchet straps on locking on at either end of the shaft....10 mins of cricket sounds, but now magic hard on. Last I tried the two open loop adjustable cock ring electrodes. long story short, zip, zilch, nada.

So I have two questions:
Technique- Are you guys jacking your cocks like usual and then strapping this thing on to finish you off or are you letting the device do all the work from scratch?

Settings- While I am well aware that this is all individual choices on what level is best but it would be very helpful to know what settings you guys are running so I can tell if I am in the ballpark or not. Thanks.
Working it hard

Yours is a much newer modern TENS unit model
than the one I have (mine is a '90s unit).

My first experience with a TENS unit was almost
5 days ago, and after reading the instructions
and doing research about it, I tried it and got
zero results from it.

I got this following settings list from a
TENS unit Users forum...

======================

If you are new to E-Stim...
Here are two reliable rules for finding hundreds
of erotic resonances to the body.

Formula one: Pulse rates(PR) and pulse widths(PW)
that divide into one another will normally
resonate well together....

--- TENS EMS

PR PW PW

1 any any

10 any any

2 evens evens

3 210 270

5 55 330

7 210 270

40 240 340

45 90 360

70 140 280 ... etc

----------

Formula two: Pulse rates (PR) ending in similar digits
to pulse widths (PW) will normally resonate well together...

Examples

--- TENS EMS

PR PW PW

1 any any

10 any any

5 150 350

11 210 310

70 170 370

90 190 290 ... etc

ENJOY and live well!

======================

Try these, but start at a very LOW setting;
and slowly/gradually increase the settings until
they feel right for you-- just be care NOT to
set 'em too high or else you'll fry your
cock and balls!

Please keep in mind that I tried a few
of these at much lower settings.
My math really Sucks Ass, and I don't have
the patience to learn how to use my TENS unit
to get the pleasurable results that so many
e-stim fans rave about.

I'll try again, perhaps another day.
But for now, I'll use my TENS unit for relieving
my back pain.

Also, mine are the old-school adhesive pads
with the Negative, and Positive plug pins.

I don't have any special cock rings that are designed
for these devices; but I'm inclined to buy a set of
rings from an online Sex Shop that may carry them.

Also #2... my crotch and balls are hairy.
It is recommended that you shave your crotch
and behind your balls in order for the pads to
adhere to, and make full unobstructed contact
with your body by way of the conductive gel
that is applied to the pads
(KY gel is conductive and safe to use)

The gel helps to conduct the pad's electic current
into your body to stimulate the nerves and muscles
in the target area...

The target area: adjust your Pulse Radius to a
wide range, to disperse the current.
If the radius is adjusted too narrow, it will be
concentrated and could cause burns and shocks.

The reason for shaving:
If any body hair, even a few follicles, interfere
with the adhesion of the pads to your body,
the pads could fall away from your body while
the unit is running-- that can be Dangerous,
because the open space between the falling pad
and your body becomes a "broken circuit" thus
it will zap the shyit outta you. It HURTS!

That is why it is important to HAVE THE UNIT
SHUT OFF BEFORE you apply the pads to your body,
and
SHUT THE UNIT OFF BEFORE you remove the pads
from your body.

...I am Not about to sacrifice the pleasures
of being Hairy just so that I can experience
pleasure from an electronic device! lol

I've explained my experience in further detail
at another TENS thread, but I cannot link to it,
so I'll paste it in my next comment in italic text...

Okay, this will be my final input on this topic.

In summary, I'm not satisfied with using the TENS unit
as a "sex toy" to stimulate my cock.
This turned out NOT to have met my expectations.

There are e-stim products designed for the cock.
But at this point if it's gonna feel like an electric
acupuncture (millions of micro needles) then my
tens unit should just be used for treating back pain.

There are bullet massagers with glans caps available
at the online sex shops, they're okay for hands-free
remote-controlled vibration; but they can't be used
for lengthy periods of time or else they'll overheat
and the tiny bullet motors will burn out.
Too bad, because I love having my glans played with
and rolled inside a buddy's lubed palms.

Back to my Tens unit review, that "needle" feeling
was the sensation that I felt when I tried the
Tens unit on my cock and taint again, for a
few minutes earlier this afternoon.

This time I tried it at a very rapid pulse rate with
a modulated pulse every 4 seconds. It felt nice at a
very low intensity, but not enough to get me aroused.
As I increased the intensity the throbbing vibration
felt nice against my taint, but I was also getting
that "needle" sting near my balls.

While the pad at my taint was buzzing, I hardly
felt anything but sharp stings through the other
pad which was attached to my cock. Not good at all.

Each pad had its own pin. The Positive pad was
placed on my taint, while the Negative pad was
attached to the front of my cock below the glans.
Perhaps if I switched pad positions in reverse,
Positive pad on my cock - Negative pad on my taint,
I might have gotten better results?
Never mind.

The whole time, I used some KY gel as a conductor
gel to keep the pads attached to me, but after a few
minutes my taint was getting sweaty and the pad
was starting to become detached.
Since the KY was water-based, it acts as a good
conductor by itself for the electrode pads.
Add some Saline to the KY and you'll get full
conduction of the current to the massage area.
But in this trial case my taint got sweaty.

At one point the pad slipped away from my taint
and the current almost shocked me due to the
"circuit break" distance between the pad and
my taint area. That Shit Hurt!
I quickly yanked the pads and the device away
from me, and I was still feeling the shock effect
for about 2 or 3 seconds. What a STING!

Wow, just wow... this TENS unit device is no toy!
If it works for You, enjoy it.
As for me, I'm done with it. I'll just use it
for relieving back pain.

Due to scarce Hands and Mouths in my city region
(and Craigslist chickenshit PUSSIES)
I'll just have to go back to massage wands and
the ol' fleshlight. frown

Persevere with it, it takes a bit of getting used to but you should be able to find settings that do it for you. I have to say using pads did nothing for me but I eventually used a ring electrode around the glans (which of course never falls off) and a pad on my asshole. This gives me divine sensations a massive hard on and cum dripping...mmm

Thanks for the feedback. A couple of points, first I keep my stuff clean shaven, have for years so keeping the electrode/pads in contact with my skin was not an issue. In terms of the sensations, with the pads I could feel the pulses and changes in frequency as I tried different settings on each circuit. When I switched to the cock rings all I could feel was the needle sensation, no pulses just either an increase in the intensity of the needles or a decrease in the intensity. For lube I slathered my cock and balls in the Spectra 360 electrode gel once I read about those who failed to use gel getting hot spots.

Based on the responses a couple of questions:
Prep- Are guys stroking themselves hard first and then applying the electrodes or does the pulse/tingle alone give the hard-on

Lube- what kinds of lube are folks using with the electrodes? The Spectra stuff came with the machine. I can keep using it but I also have my normal jacking lubes, mineral oil, silicon friendly stuff, etc. What lubes are people using? Thanks.
