Same as others, I liked using CL for blow&go in the Charlotte NC area. I found doublelist.com today and gave it a shot. Only a few entries and I read they are working to improve the site. It is city/area based and they want to fill the gap left by CL. Worth a look I think.

I'm trying a new U.S. site right now...

...it's like CL, but without all the CL crap.
So far, I'm impressed with the simple layout.
Correspondence there remains anonymous as you can
reply directly to posts INSIDE the author's post
where you'll see a built-in Reply box right there
and you can place your private email address
and upload your pic in that reply as an attachment
so that the author can reply directly to you...
...that means no BULLSHIT CL "email relays"
that only lasted until CL ads got flagged.

Speaking of Flagging, Doublelist is very strict
about Flagging. There is a Flag link with REASONS
for Flagging (Spam/Repeat, Violation of Site Rules, etc).
I just hope we won't see any abusive flagging as we
have seen on CL.

If you post yourself on Doublelist you won't have
to navigate bullshit pages just to upload a pic
as an attachment to your post. And pics seem to
appear in a decent size there, not compressed
the way CL used to do.
All replies remain anonymous between You and the
individual who replies to your post.

The site has a Casual Encounters section for
both genders and transgenders.
Also a Dating section, as well as Platonic,
and Missed Connections section, just like CL.
The site is also building other categories
(Sales, Jobs, Rentals, Community groups, so on).

...So far, my region isn't listed yet (Albany NY),
so I contacted the staff at Doublelist, requesting
them to list my region.
It's a newly built site, so they're working on it.
Most cities throughout the U.S. States are listed.
If your region isn't listed contact the staff
through their Feedback link at the bottom of that page.

I placed an ad hoping to find other guys in my region,
but no hits yet. It's just a matter of time until
this new site catches on.

I did see an ad placed there by someone from outside of
Buffalo NY, to exchange links to our XTube channels.
So far, the guy seems legit to me as we've had
an extensive conversation about the demise of CL.
I've lived in Buffalo during the late '90s;
so, when I mentioned to the guy some of my former
Buffalo garage/rock bands he recognized me as
the former drummer of mentioned bands, and the venues
where he has seen me perform- so I knew he was legit.

Fingers crossed, I hope Doublelist will blow CL
right off the map and out of business.
I also hope that Doublelist will remain organized
and strict along the guidelines as outlined
by H.R.1865 so that the site will not have to
face government scrutiny.

In any case, I personally will continue to find
whatever defiant means for me to ...
"Reach Out And Touch Someone".
Cos I'm Ninja like that, yo.

Mazinga hit the nail on the head! That's the one I found as well and it looks very promising. I didn't want to post the direct link here as I wasn't sure if that was allowed per Jackinchat's TOS but he posted it so I guess we'll find out :-)

Understood... I'll probably get in big trouble

That new site Doublelist is certainly working for me...

First of all, I'm highly impressed with the immediate
replies by the staff at that site whenever I had
a question or a suggestion.
They intend to keep that site Clean, CLEAN I tell ya,
and I'm all for it 100%.

Secondly, I posted an ad seeking guys in my local
regional area- in my very own neighborhood, to be exact-
--and this morning I received a reply from an older
guy who lives a few blocks up the hill from me!
We'll soon see if it leads to an actual Meetup.

If your local area or town isn't listed, try posting
in the Capital city of your U.S. State.
My state Capital is Albany NY, but Albany isn't listed,
so I have to post in the general New York board
where I find posts by guys from all over NYC
and NY State... and even That is better than Nothing.
I'm beginning to see more posts in the New York
region category by guys from around upstate NY
(Eastern, Central, Western, Northern,
and the Southern tier).
