I had a quad heart bypass a few weeks ago and am in the recovery process. Am curious about the experience of others here. When was it safe to jack off without causing any damage? The documentation provided states to check with the Doctor regarding sexual activity but I am not comfortable asking about jacking off since it is my only option these days. Any shared experiences would be appreciated.

I had a heart attack about a year and half ago. I had a stent put in though; no need for bypass. I honestly don't remember how much time went by before I jacked off after that. I'm not getting any sex at home, so jacking off is pretty much it these days.

I will say though, going 3-4 weeks without jacking off is my all time longest drought. So it was less than that!

Perhaps you could ask on some medical advice forum. On some of those forums, doctors answer questions. That would be my recommendation if you don't feel comfortable asking your doctor.

After my open heart surgery I asked a good friend that worked as a PT at my Cardio Rehabilitation Facility. This is a case where you should really consult your doctor. Don't feel uncomfortable about talking to him about jerking off, he's a doctor. Trust me, he's heard it all.

You really have to ask the doctor. Your situation may be different than other patients, even ones having exact same surgery. If you are that uncomfortable with it, approach it as when can you resume sexual activity. Get his response. Think about it, and if you can brave it, ask if it is the same for solo activity? You wouldn't have to say masturbation, if that's the word you are stuck on. But really, you should be able to ask specifically, because the doctor heard in in medical school and other patients for sure.
