They never do anything about spam... Unless someone inadvertently posts in the Skype thread twice in 24hrs then they ban them...

Its never ending. My mailbox clearing on here is like a second job. Unfortunately renders it useless a lot of the time.

Yes, we have been under a sustained spam flood for an extended time. However, not only do the accounts get banned (usually in 1-3 mass sessions a week), but the accounts are forwarded to the site owner. In turn, the site owner has used various means to block future registrations from the same sources. Unfortunately, while this appears to work for a short time, they have routinely found ways around the measures he has put in place.

It is just as annoying for us as it is for everyone else. (I know I definitely do not enjoy having to carve out 30-90 minutes at a time to go through the reports and ban these accounts every few days, depending on the volume. Right now, I am looking at just under 300 reports in just the past 2-3 days, and that will only grow by the time I am able to actually process them tonight.)

That said, the tenacity of these spammers does not mean that the other rules, policies, and guidelines of the site are suspended (but, yes, those are easier and quicker to deal with on the fly or using a phone instead of a computer).

I have received 8 spam messages all from different accounts in the last 30 minutes!

Yes, the current wave does seem to be far more aggressive in the quantity of messages they are sending out (as evidenced by the nearly 300 reports received in the past few days - at least half of that coming in in the past 12 hours or so).

Feel sorry for any real person who PMs with the Hello subject line as I'm deleting those now without opening.

It would be helpful and ultimately productive if the website's chat function could add to the two currently available responses (Reply, Delete) - a Tag Spam button.

I don't bother reporting spam mail anymore just delete it it comes automatically at this stage

A neat rule for all members.
1. Never put the word hello in a pm
2. Admins create a rule that auto bans anyone using the word hello in a subject line

Just a little fun idea I always hit report, then delete the message.. I may have been doing a lot of the last 12 hours reports too
