I have lost some emails from other because of the 'hello' some memories that were shared with me that were awesome, gone because of a fucking hello

It is ridiculous- the spammers are on turbo boost warp factor 10 in the last day or so - every time I think I have a PM from a mic wank buddy its one the freaking <hello> messages
I am no computer expert but surely its not difficult to prevent PMs until - say- you have made at least five posts on the message board?

Yes, I am getting fucking sick of them, I know it's very difficult for mods. to stop/control, in the meantime I suppose that all you can do is report and delete them, that said, it is really starting to infringe on my enjoyment of the site.

Plenty of other sites have approaches to deal with this sort thing, the commonest of which are delay between registering and posting - gives the mods time to have a look at the registering email etc., validate etc. Also, put some additional requirements on registering (for new registers in the future) i.e. validate the email address, require additional info.
We can put a man on the moon, but we can't implement some common forum protections? I realise this is a free site, but there are free sites that avoid this sort of nonsense.

I'm sick of them as well and the mods are doing their best as can be seen in the multiple posts regarding these intrusions. All you can do is report each & every profile and delete, only takes a minute or so. Someone asked earlier, "how do I block them," you can't as each and every one is a short term member and are usually bots not real people plus the ones you reported today are gone tomorrow as would have been taken off the page.

Right, then put some validation reqts in the registration, and/or delay posting, and/or limit numbers of posts in the first x days and/or limit how many members you can message etc. It's possible to do this without too much trouble.

And thinking about it, why not just put a captcha widget in the registration screen? There are loads of really good ones around that can make it very difficult to cheat.

Getting silly now, I am getting them non stop
I hope they stick with 'Hello' so that they are easily picked out by my Delete key. Clay pigeon/skeet shooting with no misses. Or mistresses.
